Saving your Recovery Code from a new account setup on Android

1. Open the Beeper app and enter your email address to sign up for a Beeper account. We will send you a 6-digit code for a passwordless login.
2. Enter the 6-digit code in the text field to validate the login
3. Once done, it will take you to the Connect Chat Accounts screen where you can connect any of your chat networks either as an on-device connection (top half of the screen) or cloud connection (bottom half).

After connecting one of your chat networks, you'll be taken to your main inbox, also called ‘All Chats’.

Save your Recovery Key:

After 24 hours from account creation, you should see a prompt to save your recovery key:

Save Key in Password Manager:

If choosing to save your key in password manager, a prompt from Google Password Manager will ask you to confirm. Click continue and save. Please note that if you click this option but fail to hit continue, the recovery key will not be saved to your Google Password Manager, so it is important that you follow all the steps to save it successfully.

Save Key Manually:

If you want to save your code manually, you can click ‘Save key manually’ and then use the copy button to copy it to your clipboard. You can then paste this into your preferred location such as a password manager. We discourage saving it in your notes or anywhere that is not secure, as your recovery key is critical in accessing your messages in Beeper.

Show Recovery Key

To view your recovery key, you can go to Settings > click on your profile > click on the three-dot icon on the top right > Show Recovery Key.
