How to Send a Blast in Beeper
How to send a Blast in Beeper
Send the same message to several chats at once, across any of your connected networks, without creating a group chat.
Overview
A Blast lets you write your message once and send it separately to every chat you choose. Each person receives it as an ordinary message in the chat you already have with them. They cannot see who else received it, and nobody is added to a group.
You can send to individual chats, to everyone in a Label, or to a mix of both, and those chats can be on different networks. By the end of this guide you will have sent a Blast and will know how to check it arrived.

❓Frequently Asked Questions
Free Blasts
-
Can I try Blasts for free?
Yes. Beeper Free includes three Blasts at no additional charge. After you use your three free Blasts, you can upgrade to Beeper Plus or Beeper Plus Plus to continue using Blasts.
-
When does a Blast count toward my free limit?
A Blast counts toward your free limit once your message starts sending to at least one chat. If a message fails to send to a chat and you retry it, the retry counts as part of the original Blast. You will not use another free Blast when retrying a failed message.
Selecting recipients for a Blast
Selecting recipients for a Blast
-
How do I start a Blast from a Label?
If you start a Blast while viewing a Label, all chats in that Label are selected automatically. You can deselect any chats you do not want to receive the message before continuing.
-
What happens when I select a Label as a Blast recipient?
Selecting a Label includes every chat in that Label. If multiple selected Labels contain the same chat, that chat receives the Blast message only once.
-
How can I check which chats will receive my Blast?
Check the recipient icons in the message composer:- Label icon: All chats in that Label are selected.
-
Individual chat avatars: You have excluded one or more chats from the Label.
These icons help you confirm which chats are included before sending your Blast.
-
Will I lose my message if I go back to change my Blast recipients?
No. If you select Back to change your recipients, your message remains in the composer. You can update your recipient selection without losing the message you have written.
Attachments in a Blast
- Can I send attachments with a Blast?
- Yes. You can include one attachment in a Blast, or send an attachment without any accompanying text.
- Can I attach multiple files to a single Blast?
- No. A Blast supports one attachment at a time. If you select a different file, it replaces the attachment you already selected rather than adding another attachment.
Sending and tracking Blasts
- Can I keep using Beeper while a Blast is sending?
- Yes. You can continue using Beeper while your Blast is being delivered, including when sending a Blast to ten or more chats.
- How can I tell which messages were sent as part of a Blast?
- Each message sent as part of a Blast has a Blast indicator on your copy of the message. The indicator also appears on your other devices. Recipients do not see the Blast indicator on the messages they receive.
Offline sending and failed messages
-
What happens if I send a Blast while offline?
If you send a Blast while offline, the messages wait in their respective chats with the Blast indicator visible. They are sent when you reconnect to the internet.
Your pending messages are saved if you close and reopen Beeper. When you reconnect, Beeper will send the messages without sending duplicates.
-
What should I do if a Blast message fails to send to one chat?
Open the chat where the message failed and use the usual Retry option. Beeper retries the message only in that chat. Chats that already received the message will not receive it again, and retrying a failed message does not use another free Blast.
