Discord: Channel Backfill Behavior in Beeper

TL;DR: When you connect Discord, Beeper imports the full history of your 10 most recent direct messages and up to about 1,050 messages from each server channel you bridge. Older messages arrive gradually after the most recent ones.

What Beeper imports from Discord

• Direct messages (DMs):
  • Your 10 most recent DMs are imported when you connect Discord.
  • Each one starts with its latest 50 messages. The rest of its history imports gradually in the background.
  • Other DMs appear when they get a new message.
• Server channels:
  • Channels from the servers you choose to bridge appear in Beeper, and you can send messages in them.
  • Each channel starts with its latest 50 messages, then imports up to 1,000 older messages in the background.
  • Messages older than that are not imported. They are still available in Discord.

Summary:

• ✅ Full history for your 10 most recent DMs
• ✅ Up to about 1,050 messages per server channel
• ✅ You can send and receive messages in DMs and server channels
• ❌ Older server channel messages are not imported
