Inbox: See messages from newest to oldest
Although Inbox 3.0 was designed to help you hit that exclusive Inbox zero, this guide should help you view your chats chronologically.
If you're using Auto-Archive:
If you use the Auto-Archive feature, your inbox will likely show you zero chats as your messages will be moved to the Archive folder depending on your setting. If you want to see your messages in chronological order, you can do the following:
- Head over to the Archive folder by selecting the Archive icon on Beeper Desktop, the Archive space in iOS, or Search → Filter: Archive in Android. Messages will be automatically shown in chronological order there!
If you don't use Auto-Archive:
If you prefer not to user the Auto-Archive feature, all your messages will remain in the Inbox section also already sorted from newest to oldest, except for pinned and favorited chats (if you have “Show Favorite Chats First” enabled in Beeper Desktop Archive settings).
Chats previously archived will remain archived even with Auto-Archive set to Never. Those messages will show up in the Inbox section once you receive a new message or mark the chat as unread. Otherwise, they will remain there.
Chat Network Filters
Your messages will always be displayed chronologically in the Chat Network filters.
Beeper Account Setup
Creating a new Beeper account is not yet available in the current version of the iOS app. We hope to add this feature as we launch the new generation iOS app soon! In the meantime, you may use Beeper Desktop or Beeper Android to create an account.
Chat Network Management
To connect, reconnect, or delete your chat network accounts in Beeper, please use Beeper Desktop or Beeper Android. This is not available on the current version of Beeper iOS, but we plan to add this in the new generation version of the iOS app in the future.
Beeper Beta (iOS and Desktop)
If you are an iOS or desktop beta user, your messages will be sorted from newest to oldest in your inbox by default. However, for Beeper desktop beta, messages that have been moved to Archive or Low Priority will continue to be filtered out from your ‘All’ filter.
